SOC.I.TRA.S. (Italian Society of Road Traumatology) is a cultural, apolitical and non-profit association, whose aim is to foster, in Italy and abroad, the study of medical sciences as well as its interdisciplinary and correlated branches in the field of road traffic and related issues.
SOC.I.TRA.S carries out its activity through national and international congresses, scientific and didactic publications, prize awards and study grants.
SOC.I.TRA.S sponsors specialization courses in "Road Traumatology" for applicants holding a university degree in Medicine and Surgery at the Rome University "La Sapienza".

Established in 1984, SOC.I.TRA.S has so far produced 15 congresses; some conference proceedings are now available on line on this site.

SOC.I.TRA.S, as a "superspecialized society", is affiliated to S.I.O.T. (Italian Society of Orthopaedy and Traumatology) and regularly participates in all its congress special sessions.

SOC.I.TRA.S. has agreed on a "twinship" with Sociedad Española de Valoración del Daño Corporal.
